Juan Liu had taken the initiative in producing an initial assessment of G1063 and suggested changes in input documentsENG17-3.1.3.2 Proposal for updating G1063 on Agreements for Complementary use of LighthouseENG17-3.1.3.2.1 Annex Draft updated G1063 on Agreements for Complementary use of LighthouseWG3 were grateful for this excellent work and agreed to view the papers during or immediately after ENG17 and provide comments to Juan LiuJuan Liu further produced a document assessing the overall purpose of the guidance document and a plan for review which can be viewed on fileshare. Expected completion of task will be Autumn 2025 (ENG21). It was commented that these guidance documents each should commence by referring to the high level objectives, cross referencing R1005 and UN Sustainability Target 11.4: “Strengthen efforts to protect and safeguard the world’s cultural and natural heritage”

Juan LIU presented a second draft of the revised guideline incorporating changes suggested at ENG17 and intersessionally prior to ENG18. Further suggestions for changes were made – including ensure a clear delineation from and continuity with the Complementary Lighthouse Use Manual.
WG3 participants were requested to study the latest revised text and send comments as well as suitable case studies to the Task Leader by the end of ENG18 – or intersessionally if that were not possible
