ENG18 report
The Committee reviewed the work of the MASS Task Group (paper ENG18-3.2.0.2) and created a liaison note to the MASS Task Group reminding the group of the Enhanced Radar Positioning System (ERPS). The liaison note also draws attention to the very important, but not immediately obvious, feature that racons used for ERPS provide non-ambiguous identification of landmarks. The liaison note concludes that this feature might be useful for MASS navigation.
Action item:

  • The Secretariat is requested to forward the liaison note on Enhanced Radar Positioning Systems to the MASS task force.
