The last ENG 20 session led to create the plan of the guide and to complete the first paragraphs relating to the constituent parts of a buoy. The current Working group has succeeded in completing the majority of the paragraphs and more particularly those concerning the equipment on board a buoy. The WG has refocused maintenance on steel, plastic and fiberglass buoys, excluding lighthouse and lightship buoys. Therefor, this guide describes all the key points to inspect or renovate for everything on a buoy (such as a checklist). For the next session, the group will have to work on the following topics: • the need to define renovation or periodicity criterias. But these are likely to become a reference. However, such criterias currently vary from one country to another. The variety of material qualities and environmental factors could explain this disparity. • To follow the discussion on the synthetic mooring lines in connection with the current WG for G1066. • To add photographs to complete the descriptions and illustrate the document, whether it is the equipment or the parts of the buoy; • To Develop of a short paragraph on recycling. 2025-10-17 10:23:12 ENGTGL34 2026-04-16 11:25:37 ENGTGL34 During the last session, all the paragraphs were completed except for the annexes. The group re-read the entire document to ensure that the information provided is consistent with the topic. In addition, the group added photographs to illustrate the different parts of buoys and their mooring lines, for a better understanding.
