Task Description :

Creating an overview guidance on floating AtoN

Objectives of the task : Produce a guideline to support inexperienced organisations or individuals if they are required to establish floating AtoN (for whatever reason) and demonstrate the various topics to consider for the lifetime of the floating AtoN.Reference to ENG17-3.0.5 ARM Liaison Note where they note the following for the draft guideline

Brief and concise description of the work : to be undertaken and programme mile-stones (where appropriate). Intersessional work is planned to include comments from ARM18 and IALA colleagues, scheduled for Q2 or Q3 2024 (before ENG19).

History of the task :

The Task Group met five time during ENG18 working period, where renaming and substantial editing work on the draft Guideline was completed. The meetings were hybrid and attended by 14 participants from 8 different countries (2 online, 14 in person).
The content of the draft Guideline was reviewed with duplications/ surplus information being removed and sections reordered within the document.
A response Liaison Note to ARM18 (ENG18- xxxx) has been drafted to request comments on the whole content of the renamed and reworked Guideline.
Members of WG1 with an interest in this draft Guideline are requested to review the document as it currently stands and comments and corrections are welcomed.
The Secretariat is requested to:
1 Forward the draft guideline as a working document to the next ENG Committee meeting.

The Task Group met twice during ENG19 working period, where comments received from ARM (Liaison Note) and China MSA (input paper) were reviewed and comments/ corrections completed in the draft document. Draft GL has been submitted for silent approval then Council approval. Liaison Note to ARM to thank them for their input. Task completed.
