The following Input Papers were presented by Zhenyu GUO and discussed;
Input Paper: ENG18-3.2.3.1 Proposal for updating G1074 The Branding and Marketing of Historic Lighthouses
Input Paper: ENG18-3.2.3.1.1 Annex G1074 The Branding and Marketing of Historic Lighthouses revised draft

Considerable progress had been made on guideline G1074 – principally by the Task Leader for which WG3 were grateful. Further suggestions for changes were made – including ensure a clear delineation from and continuity with the Complementary Lighthouse Use Manual.
It was agreed to change the name of the document to replace ‘Historic’ with ‘Heritage’.
WG3 participants were requested to study the latest revised text and send comments as well as suitable case studies to the Task Leader by the end of ENG18 – or intersessionally if that were not possible

ENG17

Zhenyu Guo produced and presented an initial scoping document (available to view in fileshare) setting out the purpose of these documents, initial ideas for review and program for review. It was commented that these guidance documents each should commence by referring to the high level objectives, cross referencing R1005 and UN Sustainability Target 11.4: “Strengthen efforts to protect and safeguard the world’s cultural and natural heritage”. Some thought needs to be given to the use of the word ‘Complementary’ in the title of G1075 to ensure that the scope of the guideline is clear to all.

Not individually progressed at ENG18, but being considered for potential merger with G1074 - to be discussed at ENG19
