Task Description :

G1093 provides guidance to AtoN Managers and their teams on the most appropriate methods for the management or disposal of surplus lighthouse properties in order to preserve the lighthouse heritage to the best level possible. This task is review of the guidelines.

Objectives of the task :

This review task is to ensure G1093 is fit for purpose, and aligns with other heritage guidelines.

The guidelines will provide principles for AtoN managers to consider when faced with surplus lighthouse property that has heritage and/or cultural significance. Additionally, the guideline is expected to provide guidance on the various options available to AtoN Managers, with emphasis on the importance of retaining surplus lighthouse property for complementary use.

The guidelines will align itself with other heritage guidelines and manuals which touch on complementary use.

Expected outcome :

The expected outcome of this task is the preparation of updated guidelines for G1093.
